12 Ga Buckshot loads

I have a copy of BP's buckshot handbook as well. Lots of good stuff. While I don't especially like the idea of only loading what the Curmudgeon sells, the book brought to my mind a lot of things about loading shotshells in general and buckshot in particular. Good reading to anyone to anyone who wants to start loading their own.

ETA: You might try calling the lab as suggested in several places in the literature and on their website. I called once and was pointed in generally a correct direction about slugs. It turns out many other people had the same question I did and they were working on it.

I am just starting to delve into buckshot loads myself.
I have found the Bubba Rountree Outdoors channel on Youtube very helpful. The guy's name is Wade Rush and he does a TON of shotgun deer hunting and reloading.
He has a lot of buckshot recipes (mostly 3"). He goes by published data, but goes by payload weight, not by published buckshot loads.
There are a lot of recipes using a wide variety of wads and powders.

One or two of his loads, he uses wads that the pellets go up higher. As long as it's crimping good, don't worry about that.

You should check his channel out.
