I have been building a version of my Tactical Shotgun in 20ga for awhile now and the only down side is that there are so few options in stocks and other accessories. So, I came up with a concept to be able to mount a 12ga 870 stock on an 20 ga 870. Being old and not very bright I realized I did not have the means, the contacts or time to get this developed. So I contacted Mitch of Mesa Tactical and told him what I wanted. I use his products as they are all duty quality and he stands by every thing he makes. So I knew if he liked the concept he could make it happen. He did the CAD and sent me a proto-type to test. I loved it and gave it the "Two thumbs up" award.

Good news. This adapter will be available from Mesa Tactical by April of 2014. You will be able to mount any 12ga 870 stock to the 20ga 870 light weight model. This means my 20ga Tactical Model can now come with the Mesa LEO with Enidine Buffer, or the Urbino or the SF-IVS, any stock. So, if you have one of the 870 20ga Jr. Models and are thinking about turning it into a defense gun your options have just went up.

AI&P, are they also going to make a forearm adapter so the 20 ga can use the 12 ga forearms like the MagPul, etc?

That sounds great! Also, Mesa Tactical is probably the best company you could've gone with.

I look forward to seeing it.

No pic yet, the proto type was changed some from the original so I have not even seen the new version yet.

The forend issue is also one I have been up against. I made an adapter that would allow me to use a sure fire forend on the 20ga, worked great untill I realized it the entire thing was to heavy and to big for the 20ga and would over torque the action bars. Lost a bundle on that mess. I use the Choate forend on the 20 as they fit perfectly.

If you want to put that Mag pull forend on your 20 ga, just get that ATI forend with all the adapters and use the for the 20ga and see if the forend you want to use will work. I have no idea how well it would work as have never seen it and have never seen the mag pull forend. If you try it then let us know if it worked.
