Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but I thought that the Winchester 1300 was no longer being made. I have seen a few references about Winchesters new SPX pump shotgun indicating that it was the same as the Winchester 1300. Is this true? If it is true does any one know of any shops in south mississippi that are carrying them? I would love to buy a new 1300.
My old one has been outstanding and I can defintily make a place in my home for a new defender model.

thanks

You may find your 1300 listed as a FN brand pump which is essentially a 1300 shotgun. That being said, Winchester's website is again featuring a pump gun with backbored barrels etc. I bet it is also similar to a 1300 under a new name. I have seen the FN models recently at a few gun shows. I have not yet seen the new Winchester branded models.

There was some press, advertising, or news of some kind a year or two ago about Winchester producing the "speed pump" which I gather was a slightly revised 1300, backbored, and with a different choke system that was produced in Turkey. I think I even remember seeing one or two at a gun show. Don't know the current situation.

ATAShooter,
HAHAHAHA! I got a kick outa your comment. my old 1300 is a black shadow turkey gun. it has the 21" bbl (may be a 22" bbl not too sure.) any way. i thought it was a funny comment.

on a side note. i find the shorter turkey barrel, with the magazine plug removed and modified choke to be an excellent HD shotgun. a bit long, but manageable enough if you are familiar and proficient with it. any thoughts on that?
