IMG_5960.JPG IMG_5963.JPG IMG_6005.JPG Started the night with a coyote shot from about 100 yds. Spun around for a few seconds and fell over. Bullet entered behind shoulder and exited front of shoulder. That video didn't record (forgot to enable video mode on the Reap-ir) but it did remind me to enable video on the scope which allowed me to get the next 14 confirmed hog kills from this sounder on video.
Couple hours later driving/scanning I spotted "a couple" hogs.....
equipment used: 12.5" ARP upper in 6.8 SPCII from Eric at Blackstone Arms. Reap-IR thermal scope from Cliff at Third Coast Thermal. Sig Sauer 762 titanium QD suppressor from Silencer Shop. Helmet mounted PVS-14.

Nice shooting! We have no hog hunting per se in Wisconsin, wish we did. My family would never eat store meat again. I do what I can.:) How is that open reticle, is it had to get used to? I always liked the closed "cross" or mildot...

Look like a great way to spend a night to me. Pretty decent shooting too. How far were the shots?

That's a lotta bacon.....I might have to save up for a thermal sight. though like JeffG said, not many feral hogs in WI. But I've had six coyotes in a field, with a can and a thermal, I could get more than one.

The reticle is a standard cross. The scope has other reticles to choose from as well. When u zoom in it goes away on video but not looking through the lens (look at the first 10 seconds of the video).

They were a little farther out than I normally stalk up but that might have been a blessing in disguise. I'm guessing they were about 100 yards away but I normally walk up to 50-75 yards. However they really stuck around allowing me lots of follow up shots with the suppressor. Not sure how much of that had to do with the terrain, the way I drove them with my shooting or just luck.

Once u go black and white, you'll never go back from the sight! Haha

I will add that pulsar just came out with some new thermal lines. The Trail XQ38 and 50 and the Apex XQ38 and 50. Not to be mistaken for their old Apex XD lines. The Trail line is the same as the apex line but with features like internal video recording, wifi, internal rechargeable battery pack and others. The Trail XQ38 is $2500
