Pickins' are slim. But I found 500 155 gr FMJ RNFP .40 cal Montana Gold Bullets at the local GS. They had one bag left and I picked them up. I've been very pleased with the 165 grain JHP I've shot from them. If I recall, bds gave me his match load with the 165 grain, which shot outstanding out of my SR40c.
I need the COL for the 155 gr bullet
And if you'd like to share your favorite powder and charge with this particular bullet, I'm all ears..
I have
HP38 (win 231)
H110
Blue Dot
Clays
Unique
2400
Power Pistol
True Blue
AA#5

I have used Montana Gold 155/165 gr FMJ and 165 gr JHP with 1.125" OAL with reliable feeding/chambering in multiple pistols.

Try 155 gr MG FMJ with 5.2-5.5 gr W231/HP-38.

Well I don't see any powders I use for .40 on that list, but I personally load with Longshot and HS6 for the .40 and 9mm. Both powders are very pressure friendly, as in no spiking issues, and both get you decent velocities.

So far seating depth, I've never used published OAL's, just pull your barrel out and use the plunk test, magazine fit, and reliable cycling to determine OAL, and you'll be fine.

I'm with gamestalker on this.

However, I do have 4 of the powders listed. I like and use 231/HP38 in 40s. I don't consider H110/296 or 2400 or unique suitable, but that's just me.

First check is magazine length, followed with dropping em into the chamber for fit. Only load a few to check feed. I then set my bottom load and top load (2 rounds will tell all that is needed here). With the two limits, I have everything in between to play with wile looking for what works best.
