Bushmaster ACR on GunBroker

Remember at the end of last year when a guy named Jesse James won a Bushmaster ACR? Well, he had much more restraint, and foresight, than I would have had. Instead of taking his new baby to the range the moment he got it, he put it in his safe without firing a shot.

Now he has Listed it on Gun Broker and the current bid is $16,000 and the reserve has not yet been met! Apparently he already has a buyer who is willing to pay the reserve price.
Well we know he's getting at least $16,000 for an ACR. I wonder what the reserve went up to.

Im pretty sure that is a Semi auto ACR.

Anyone silly enough to pay $16k+ for one of these..... Well, I just want to sell him my famous Picasso painting of dogs playing poker or my Florida vacation property in the middle of the swamp.

The buyer is Kookoo for cocoa puffs....

with current law, i see no way it could be anything otherwise.. Citizens cannot own NEW full auto weapons in the US.

When are they releasing a semi-auto version? Please oh please...

The Bushmaster ACR currently on gunbroker for $16,000 with reserve not met, is semi-auto only. It's one of two that have been released. Bushmaster/Remington is trying for a Q3 2010 release time frame with a MSRP around $3000 for the semi-auto only ACR.

bushamster is hoping the rate's a lot higher than 1 sucker / min

it doesn't matter. One sucker an hour even, paying 2500-3000 bucks for an ACR, is still a very sizable profit

He's only getting that kinda money cause it's the first one. Everyone after this one will go for retail or less.

I thought Bushmaster announced at SHOT 2010 that the ACR "Basic" was going to be released March 1? Not that I'd be shocked if they missed another date; but I had not heard anything different yet (haven't been following real closely either though once I learned the proposed price and features of the ACR).

Personally, I think people do not appreciate the genius of the ACR. It takes a fair amount of creativity to build a bare-bones 5.56mm carbine with a 16" barrel out of plastic and aluminium and have it approach the loaded weight of a 7.62mm M14 rifle with a 20" barrel made out of wood and steel. ;)

Jesse James, eh? Well if Sanda the billionaire cuts him off for horkin that stripper, he may need that $16K!

Pending government decisions the ACR has the potential to be the US Military’s next service rifle.

Uh-huh.

Wow, for that kind of money you can practically get a real Colt M16 right? Heck, I'd sell the ACR too, get a real M16, and then get a custom 22LR upper that can stand up to auto.

If he can sell that thing for 16K plus, more power to him. I'd have done the same in his place and used the money to buy 16 other guns

Yes, actually. Great idea!
