I just traded for a .54 cal C Sharps and I know absolutely nothing about it except Ive wanted one for a long time. There is alot of information on the 45-70, 45-90 and 45-120 but I find very little on the .54. Its an IAB. Ive read that it uses conicals with 60 gr of powder. , but that was all I could find out about one. Can anybody fill me in or tell me where to look.

You need to know how large your chamber is. This is one factor in developing your load.
My IAB will hold 120gr of 3f..(.54)
120 gr is STOUT... Not for sittin' down shootin'...Standin'-- OK.
To run a reduced load of say 70 gr, I load 50gr (volume, of course) of filler, ie..COW
a paper disc then the BP.
I use cigarette papers for the cartridge.
Make sure you slug the bore...
IAB is usually .550 in the grooves..
A PEDERSOLI mould casts at ~ .546
It cost me near a hunnert bucks to figger that'un out.
An'..It don't shoot worth a damn..
I'll see if'n I cain't locate some of my info for you, tomorrow ?
