1853 Enfield

Does anyone know the approx value of an original 1853 Enfield. The rifle is a little beat up, but everything seems to function well (half cock, full cock, trigger). The bore seemed a little pitted, but had visible rifling. An approximate 'over / under' $$$ would be useful.

Pictures would be helpful as there is a huge range in price depending on condition of several components. An all original, mint condition rifle could fetch $2K, but an average condition gun ~$700.

I don't have photos and it's been over a year since I've held the rifle. Talking to a friend the other day, I learned the owner of the rifle has had a tough time lately, so I was thinking about contacting him to see if he would be interested in selling it. I'm a little suprised the average rifle would be worth $700. I guess there's a lot more of them floating around than I thought.
