1858 Remington, Genuine or repro.

Reply from the Remington Society Forum. By its serial number the piece was manufactured in March of 1864. Most likely a civilian gun.

That is pretty cool when you can find out things like that about 19th century guns. I have a Smith & Wesson I have a report from S&W on when it was made, and when/where sold!
