I just got a box of Berry's 185 flat point plated bullets in last week. I'm looking for a good basic load for HP38 or Longshot for a plinking load. I'm thinking of starting with 5.0 grains of HP38 and then working my way up. Any other ideas with these two powders?

Many thx,

jw

HP-38 over Longshot for plinking loads in the .45 ACP. 5.0 grains is a good starting point. That will be light and comfortable. Probably too light. Next time try the 185 SWC. It shoots great. The 185 grain HBRN & the 200 grain HP are worth a try as well.
