Hello all. I am new here - and wanted to say what a wealth of information and knowledge I have encountered. Wonderful group of folks.
Mainspring broke on my 1860 Army. Recieved a replacement from DixieGunWorks - it is too short - it just barely touches the hammer roller. The bend/curve is a bit more pronounced than the one that came with the gun (15+ yrs. ago).
It appears that if both mainsprings were laid out flat - they would be approximately the same length.
Anyone ever encounter this? Should I attemt to redifine the bend on the mainspring and 'make' it work?
Would greatly appriciate any input.
Thank you.
