Well, since I am new here I guess I should introduce myself. I am in San Antonio, Texas and am fairly new to the BP sport. I started out with an 1860 Army Colt reproduction from Sao Palo Armory in Italy (now Euro Arms). It is a commemorative Buffalo Soldiers Limited edition # 049. My wife got it for me for our 25th anniversary. Since she works at a local gun store, she sees all of the trade ins before they go to the shelves. The owner is not interested in BP so she gets first shot. This led to a TC 54 Hawken in excellent shape for $100 followed by a TC Grey Hawk and a CVA in line for $150 each. Not only has my addicition grew, but we have a really good muzzleloaders club locally that gives complete acsses to the range anytime for the cost of membership. So I can spend all of my free time feeding m addiction.:banghead:

Welcome Gene, I'm fairly new here, too. Not new to black powder, though. I bought my first one in 1972. A Euroarms Remington 36. I carried that pistol for close to 20 years following hounds at night. It accounted for hundreds of coons, possums, ringtails, quite a few bobcats, and several javelinas in self defense.

I got out of black powder for a while, but, recently have come back to the dark side.

If you don't mind me asking, where is your blackpowder club located.

BTW: I also have a Armi San Paolo 1860. I love that pistol. It's not a commemorative like yours, but, very nice.

Anyway welcome again. There's some very knowledgeable people on this forum.

The club is called Alamo Muzlleloaders and is located in San Antonio with the range in Lacoste, just outside of San Antonio. They have a website " AMGC.com". It is a collection of some really great characters.:)

You are twice blessed my friend. Not only to have a wife who understands and buys you the guns you desire and to have her work in a gun shop where she can get such good deals. Treat her well, you have a very rare thing going there.

You are very right Gaucho. Her passion is .45 ACP. I recently got her a Springfield XDs that she really enjoys on the range. Of course, her toys are quite a bit more expensive than mine, so I am hoping to get her into BP so we can have more range time together.
