Did anyone else ever notice how much difference the Uberti and Pietta grip frame is on the 1860 current production ?
I like taking pictures anywayz , but it's pretty dramatic in size side by side .
The Uberti feels much nicer in my hand too , more 1851 like but longer . The Pietta feels more like holding the Walker , real straight up and down feeling , much less gracefull in the hand .
I used to actualy really hate the 1860's looks . Ironically after buying one from each maker , I love them both and the design and the looks . Go figure ?
Uberti is the top one , you can tell by mediocre CCH .

Two piece grips or not , that thar Black Walnut is mighty good lookin on the 1860 , especially the Full FLuted Uberti . Like Ratdog says , ZESTY :)

When you think about it Ratdoggy68 , how many retail gunshops or Cabelas style stores could you go into and hold both ? I seriosuly doubt there are but half a dozen in the world for that . I bet auction houses might have both , but not likely , and certainly not new ones you could try out and hold . You would have to work at Taylors or Dixie in the warehouse to have those two brands in one place to try out . Or my house or MCB house :D.. Other than this forum and my pictures right there , 90% of people would have had no idea the two were shaped different ? Some people know the Uberti and Pietta are sized different already of course , but shaped different too !

You did

real good for one year too ! :D
I wish we could both do that good every year , and then find more time in life to use mroe of them . But I like them for ART also , it doesn't bother me much to just look at them or hold them . TO heck with buying Picasso , unuseable art does little for me anywayz .
Many a night after work I will go grab a couple and sit and watch TV, pollishing , handling , cocking , just looking at them , admiring , daydreaming .
To me that's one of the best and most relaxing times in life , for me .
Shooting is just frosting on the gun cake .

LOL... I heard 'dat ! I'm lookin' at "stuff" on the walls and tellin' myself... "You could have a gun rack there... you could have a bow rack there..." Yup... functional art is a good thing !
