Hi. Can anyone enlighten me on this Pietta model? Out of production I assume. What is the difference between the 1860 and 1862, not counting the pocket models? Pietta historical fabrication? Thanks everyone so much, tk

Kinda what I thought. As far as i can tell, the 1861's are 36 cal only? Thanks again for helping me square away this basic info. Really looking forward to BP shooting, tk

They're actually a .44 caliber 1851, cut down to 5 1/2". Never existed "back in the day," but more fun than a box of puppies. I want two!

Pietta did make a sheriffs model version of the 1860. nice looking piece. I think Cabelas used to stock them.

Taylors was having a Christmas special on them.
Basically an 1860 cut to 5.5".
They offered it with two cylinders.
One was half-fluted.
One was roll engraved.
$200
A helluva deal.
I bought two of them.
