Does anyone know what the rifling twist in a JM stamped Marlin Cowboy Limited in .44-40 WCF with a 24" barrel would be?
These aren't that common, I guess, and I was unable to find this information in my on-line search.
The .44 magnum and .45 Colt are both 1:38" twist, but I wondered if the .44-40 model was faster?
So, anybody know?

Near as I can tell, the 20" Cowboy (1894CCL) in .44-40 and the 24" Cowboy in .44-40 both had .429" groove diameter and 1:38" twist.
Wikipedia reproduced information from a chart which included the 20" Cowboy 1894CCL, but not for the 24" Cowboy.
The 20" 1894CCL included .45 Colt, .41 Magnum, and .44-40, all with 1:38" twist.
It's very unlikely that Marlin would have invested in new tooling for the small numbers of .44-40 Cowboys made, when they could just use .44 magnum barrels.
