Which website did you find the ammo on? There’s nothing wrong with the 1895 as a low-recoil SA centerfire plinker. And new shooters are always intrigued by it’s looks and history.

I owned several back in the day ... $80-90 bucks a pop , like new ..I’d shoot 32 Long in them $12.00 box of fifty...

A friend has the standard model but it was accompanied by a supply of wadcutter ammo. Look down at the submerged bullet and it is a button nose lead wadcutter.

There was an enlisted man's model in single action.
At one time Cowboy shooters were looking for them or just taking the DA lifter out of the more common "officer's model." They were accepted by SASS as a 19th century design. Doubt they are now.

IIRC, I was able to shoot 32 S&W long out of mine.

The DA trigger was possibly the stiffest I've ever felt, but SA wasn't bad and it went bang every time.

Commygun it is at grafs right now on sale. They have 14rd boxes for 3.99 ea. Best price from what I can remember. But you have to order at least 50$ to place any order with them right now and the wait is like 3 weeks to ship out. Unfortunately I just bought the last few boxes that selway had for sale on monday. It arrived today in the mail!

Waveski, awesome information about the holsters I had always wondered what the deal was with that pebble like grain.
