1903A3 finish question

I am thinking of refinishing the bolt on my 1903A3, my questions is, what is the correct finish for each part? Also is the trigger guard suppose to be parkerized or blued? Thanks

An 03-A3 would be Green Parked all over.

Only the much earlier 03's had any blued parts or finish.

Nope, not unless it went thru a rebuild. The bolt and most of the parts other than the barreled receiver are blued on a new, unissued 03-A3.

Hi again Garand. Because when I was going to rebuild the 03A3 thst I posted pics of I realized I was going to end up spending a fair amount of money. So I did the best I could at trying to see how the 03A3's were finished in their original form. This is what I came up with. The receiver and barrel including front sight mount and blade are parked, the rest of it is blued. But as I mentioned earlier, one, I chose to polish the bolt for my own liking, two it will not show the wear of a blued bolt as it gets used.

I have a four digit serial number 03 and it is green parkerized all over.

Thanks for the information everyone, one of the things that I love about THR is that there are hundreds of other people that love WWII arms as much as I do, so if I have a question it usually gets answered within a few hours
