I am planning a 03a3 purchase and just want a nice rifle to shoot around the house and at the range occasionally. I have a choice between a Smith-Corona and a Remington. Which is the better choice? The Remington looks to be in a tad better shape appearance wise but the same shape functionality wise. They are also about the same price. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Both guns are good, but the Smith Corona is a better colletable rifle. Where are they and what price are the asking for them?

I have a Smith Corona and a Remington 1903A3. I got them through the CMP and refinished the stocks on both. The ones I have came with a pistol type grip. They are extremely accurate rifles and a lot of fun to shoot. I believe I paid around $500 for each plus shipping fro the CMP. They still have some but not with the pistol grip and I'm not sure if they still have the A3s.

I checked with CMP but they are sold out of 03A3 rifles. All they have left are 03s. I would definatly go through the CMP if they still have them.
