I know this may be a longshot but does anybody know of a .22lr 1911 conversion with the following specs?

1. Accurate
2. Slide lock on empty mag
3. Able to install Meprolights

I'm trying to get a conversion kit as close to my Kimber Custom II TLE as possible.

Thanks

Not seen any actual 1911's, although I have a Sig P220 ( Sig's .45 model ), that came with a factory upper .22LR conversion barrel & slide. The only downside to it is the 'plastic' magazines. They are 10 round and I've experienced FTF with a number of them. The gun runs best on Federal AM-22 Auto Match and Federal Champion 'blue box' bulk packs.

The Sig came with a discount coupon to buy the .45 upper with night sights and barrel as well.

This is as close to a 1911 in .22LR that I can come up with.

I must be a little lost but in the Brownells magazine i'm looking at has a Kimber .22 upper conversion with the slide lock, and i'm sure you can swap out the sights

Nope, can't help you with that one.

My Marvel locks back and has a fiber optic, but no Mepro.

You might give the good folks at Marvel a call, and see what they say.

good luck!

I have the STI conversion for my 1911, similar to the Marvel conversion kits. The barrel bolts down to the frame and doesn't move, making it very accurate, it uses a 1911 style magazine so the slide stays open on the last round and the conversion kit can have a multitude done to it including a change in sights.

Granted it's more expensive than the Kimber conversion but it's also more accurate.

Marvel One Kit, the slide locks back.
Marvel Two Kit, slide does not lock back.

There is a difference in price as well. The Marvel One is considered to be accurate enough for competiton from what I have read. Although my Marvel Two is as good as I am. I don't shoot Bullseye, just plink. Check out their website. I have no idea what you can do for fixed sights.
