1911 complete disassembly instructions with pics

As a person who really wants a 1911 (especially a bobtailed one), this post just made me drool! Great guide!
 
Thanks Warlock. A very nice job of documenting how everything fits. Be careful though, you may be removing the mystique of the 1911 and people will realize they are not as complicated as some state they are.
(I'm looking for a similar example for a Glock, cause if it's simpler than what you post shows for a 1911... it's got to be like chucking a rock simple. The Youtube vids I found on glock show some stamped steel mechanisms that look scarier than a 1911) ;)

looking at the parts on the table, I think I can easily say.. just as complicated, if not more so than a 1911.

Yes, field strip is easier. But a 1911 is not that much harder to get the slide off.

The 1st vid, it must have been a loose gun for the pins were not in that tight.
The 2nd looks like how snug I'd want the pins on a firearm.

Naw....I've detail stripped them both, and while the 1911 is a rather simple design and is easy to detail strip, the Glock is an even more simple and is even easier to detail strip.
