Having a few extraction issues. Thought I would remove the extractor to get a closer look at it. After removing the firing pin stop and firing pin, extractor is still quite, can not get it out. What am I doing wrong? Already bent a small punch trying to pry it out. Series 70.

Well, if it doesn't have a firing pin safety plunger in the bottom of the slide, and a Series 70 doesn't, it should come out.

Try a bigger screw-driver or something for a pry bar.
It must really be gummed up with dryed oil & dirt.

Might give it a shot of solvent or penetrating oil and see if that helps.

Thanks RC:
Bigger is always better. Got it out, cleaned the extractor, the channel, little bit of oil. Fired a couple of mags through it and no failures to extract.
