I replaced my mainspring housing and guts on my Springfield Mil-Spec and when I gave my wife my wish list I had put down a standard firing pin and spring for a series 70/80. Well I did not realize I needed a firing pin for a 9mm/38 super for the Springfield. I have already got one on order, but is there a problem using the original factory firing pin and firing ping spring until then?
Now I just need to talk the wife into another 1911 that will use this firing pin so it does not go to waste… I wonder if she will fall for that

Pinned

It won't hurt anything, but if you use the original fp spring with the lighter mainspring, you may have an occasional misfire with CCI ammo due to their hard primers. The firing pin that you need isn't exactly the same as a 9mm/.38 Super either. I've got one here made specifically for the Springfield .45 pistol. Yours for what it cost me. Run by and pick it up when ya get a chance.

Or You Can Have it Free

If you'll adopt a dog. Betcha you could even talk him into installing it and giving that gun a good checkup to boot.

Okay cool I need to get that catalog to you anyway. I will shoot you a PM to see when and what time will work for you? Do you need a standard firing pin? I will swap you if you would like....
