I was wondering if someone could help me figure this out. I want to use a 1911 .45 for IPSC and would be using 10 round mags. Would that put me in Limited 10? If not, what class? Would I be competing with those race guns with my 1911? I have a 9mm that I could use, but I shoot better with the 1911. I tried to access the USPSA website but could not get it to load.

You would be in LTD 10 with a 1911 and 10 round mags. The USPSA rules are written to allow 10 round single stack pistols. IPSC doesn't have a LTD 10 class. Race guns shoot in Open. You could still find yourself shooting against $3000 customs but they will be built to the same rules as a stock 1911.

Depending on what 9mm you have you could shoot it in Production (loading only 10), Limited loading standard mags to the limit of a mag length of 140mm (means a + 2-5 for rounds held) or in Limited 10 again. The down side to 9mm outside of the Production class is you are scored as "minor," meaning a less than perfect shot will gather you an increased penalty.

Follow the links in my sig line for more info on Ohio ranges and shoots.

Thanks for the info. Also, thanks for the link to the calendar page. That is very useful.
