I bought a Rock Island 1911 Full Size, all black, which came with thin black rubber grips and also a set of thick wood grips. I would like to get some thin brown grips for it, preferably rubber. I've been looking around on the internet but haven't found any. Can anyone advise?

I think Bianchi Leather use to make a set of dark brown rubber finger groove grips for the 1911. Might try looking for them on Ebay or one of the gun auction sites.

I didn't comment earlier since I can''t help you with brown rubber grips. However, if you're swapping out standard thickness grips for thin grips, you'll need to change the grip bushings and get shorter screws for the thin grips.

If you're not familiar with how to change grip bushings, you should look into it before you proceed, it may be more involved than you want to go.
