I've been carrying a blued 1911 IWB in a Bladetech UCH holster, which protects most of the pistol from my sweat with an extended piece of kydex on the body side. Recently, I've discovered that my sweat must have worked its way under the grip panels (just at the edges and around the bushings), probably because of the amount of time I spend sitting. I've dealt with the rust for now, but want to prevent it in the future.

Are there any holsters that have material between the grip panel and you? I checked the well-regarded Milt-Sparks holsters, but even they don't seem to offer this feature.

Sorry to hear about this! It is for this very reason that I won't carry my carbon steel 1911s. I have looked at dozens of 1911 holsters and have never seen one as you have described. The best I have found of IWB is one that cover the entire slide. However, they all seem to leave the grips and other parts exposed. You could always go "custom-made".
