1911 in 38 Special?

Are there any production 1911's in 38 Slp. wadcutter anymore. Or would a guy have to get one custom made by such as Clark Custom?
Since S&W 52's are out of production I don't think there is any 38 Spl. autos made are there?

I think Colt produced them in limited numbers from 1960 to 1971, but they were hardly what you would call hot sellers. They also made a conversion kit for converting 1911's to .38 Special, but again not many made, and such a kit would be principally a collectors item.

Another difficulty with the .38 Special 1911's is that they had to use full wadcutters that didn't extend further than the mouth of the case. Nothing larger would fit in the magazine or chamber.

I'd love a 1911 that fed 158-grain SWC-HP +P rounds, but like was mentioned, you'd need a Coonan which is ALSO defunct.
