i have a RIA 1911 tactical and after i fire ~60 rounds of WWB, i start getting nose dives into the feed ramp. when i clean it the problem goes away. it is a somewhat new gun (less than 300 rds), but have never known a nose dive, to be a typical break-in malfunction. is this typical of 1911's with tight slides or should i send it back to armscor? none of my GI's have done this.

i had to send it back to the factory for repairs so it is not stock. before i sent it back, it wouldn't chamber the first three rounds.

send it back again, they need to replace or re-work it, thats un-usual for RIA guns they usually run no issues, what sort of ammo is it? Who maks check the Length against other fmj?

See if it mostly does this when the magazine is almost empty. I suspect that you need a different magazine or magazine spring. It appears that the slide is hitting the cartridge's rim too high, causing the bullet's nose to go down.

it's doing it on the first round of an 8 round ACT and Mec Gar mag, but only when it's dirty. ammo used is wincester white box. i measured the OAL of the rounds and they are fine. so i should send it back again?

the magazine is fully loaded when it happens. the bullets are getting seated back in the case when it feeds.

could be. i don't think it's making it to the extractor tho. usually the extractor will cause a stem bind. i need to reproduce the malfunction and see if it is the extractor. i'm gonna shoot it some today and find out. the smith told me to just use a heavier recoil spring, but that only covers the problem up. it doesn't fix it.
