Had a suplyer call the other day at the shop and ask if we wanted some Armscor 1911 1A at a special price so the boss said "do you want one?"
When they got here ( he ordered four) they were RIA's which are made by Armscor.
Well I went to the range today and put 300 rds through it HB, Simi wadcutter, HP and no FTE, FTF, or any other issue. It is so much fun it will break me feeding it. What a way to go broke.
They will bite if you get your hand to high on the gripp. It is a GI configuration.

yea aren't these Armscor guns fantastic!! I love mine. No problems and groups 3" at 45' freehand.. :)

Ah yes, the dreaded hammer bite...

I have small hands, so it isn't an issue for me.
I wonder if John Moses Browning had small hands,
or if Americans haven't simply gotten bigger and bigger-handed over the years.

:)

If you're not deadset on maintaining a purist GI look,
maybe you could throw in a beaver/duck tail grip safety?

I'm looking forward to buying an Armscor M1911A1 "GI" 45 once our election gun-ban is over. Waiting on mid June...

Gotta love those Rock Island 45's

I sure love mine, it runs perfectly! I added a drop-in trigger job, and new grips.

I will use mine as my primary CCW when i get some defensive ammo. It is a joy to shoot being use to a DA-SA 40 S&W and a revolver the SA trigger is nice even stock.

berettaman - your Rock Island - it looks like a stainless - or is it just the flash from the camera or the lighting? If it is stainless, where can you get one?

Looks like its got a few stainless parts, magwell, safety, slide-lock latch, hammer and trigger all being lighter than the parkerized finish... still a good looking 1911 w/ that contrast.
