Went up to Gander Mountain last night with a buddy and intent to look at a Sig 229/239 for him. Strayed over to the 1911 cabinet to see if we could find one for his Dad as he shot it better than the Glocks/Sig. We were mesmerized by a Sig Revolution C3 Compact in .45. Very thin, held 6 + 1 I think. Concealable and great looking. Price tag was $1200, way above what we have ever spent. Anyway, found it on GilbertsGuns.com for $900. I will be 21 in the Spring and I would lik a gun this size for my 1st gun as it will be a kind of do-all from concealed carry to HD (even though I have a Mossy for this it would be a back-up). STI Guardian is what I would've gotten as I can't have the same as my shooting buddy and he's got dibs.
I would like to spend ~$600 (Guardian $900). There are some good full-size 1911s in this price range (RIA, Springfield Mil-spec, etc.), but hard to find any in smaller size. The only smaller size 1911 I've been able to find (in SS without standard GI sights) in this price range is the Charles Daly Empire EMS.
Other options with officer frames?
Anyone know anything about the Charles Daly EMS (commander sized)?
Oh yeah, and the reason for the Officer frames is I've never felt a gun that fit my hand so well.
