Need some opinions...

Now for even asking this question, I am sure I will get flamed by some purists. I would only ask that before you torch me, to read the same reviews I have.

CDNN (Ii have in the past had really good dealings with them) Has Flat Black Turk made 1911, Hogue grips, imported by Umarex (I believe these are made Sarsilamaz) Supposedly much improved over the Regent R-100

Mil-Spec, made with CNC machines, invesment cast frame, forged and milled slides.

Price point is $349.00, however got a flier for 329.00

1911, wow!! If this is as advertised, can this be beat? Any info on these pistols? As of late Turk guns made on CNC seem to be really made.

I have their Beretta clone (MKEK Yavuz 16) and for my money it shoots beter than my M9.

Thanks for your feedback...

Well I’m not gonna flame ya. As a matter of fact I’m gonna suggest you do us all a big favor.
Why don’t you pick one up (you want to anyway) along with a bunch of 45 ammo. You could
review the gun and do a long term review of it. Maybe some decent photos inside and out.
Maybe check back every thousand rounds or so. I can’t speak for anybody else but I would
love to know how they hold up.

Sarsilmaz does not make a 1911; the only .45 they make is the K2 45 (CZ clone).

The Regent R-100 is made by another Turkish company - TISAS (Trabzon Gun Industry Corp.).

UmarexUSA is the current importer of the R-100. The version currently being imported has a firing pin safety.

IAC (Interstate Arms Corp.) was the former importer fo the R-100. The version IAC imported did not have a firing pin safety; the frame was cut for FPS parts, but the slide was not.

Sorry, my bad. TISAS it is. OK guys, you've got a deal. My next two paychecks are going to be a little small (I'm a contractor), and I have my eye on an XD.

However, give me about 6 weeks and I'll pick one of these up, and give a report. Seriously, if you have any interest, google some articles about this 1911. Seems like a great buy.

Give me a month and a half, and I'll let you know!!

I also just picked one of these up. Mine is an original IAC, not the Umarex. Essentially same gun. Will be firing it Sat and report on it here. Initial impressions...NO noticible play in the slide, either with or without the spring in place. Machining looks to be well done. My IAC has faux wood grips (bakelite or similar) as oposed to the newer Umarex that have Hogue grips. No sharp edges... seems to be well made.

Grabbed a 50 box of 230 gn Blazer to run through it.
Let you know Saturday afternoon!

Anyone else have a range report on these???

I've been looking at them for a while, they must have just started importing because this is the only model I've seen (their website shows A LOT MORE) Gun shop rumor mill says that they were set up using old Springfield equipment (take that with a grain of salt) I am in the market for a 9mm style 1911, I cant find their model in the US anywhere though.

Have done quick take-down (field strip) to inspect, clean, lube. Though this is the first 1911 I have owned, I have seen others belonging to friends, torn apart. All parts "appear" to be standard 1911 at this level of disasembly. Cleaned, lightly wiped all blued parts with Hoppes oil (then wiped clean), used used a smidge of red Slide Glide on the rails.

I have seen some say that the hammer was very cheaply cast and even had porosity visable. Certainly not the case with this one. I am expecting (though time will tell) a fun weekend with what I hope to become a fun and reliable shooter!

More as I get it (Saturday afternoon upon return) :)
