So I've been buggin you folks for good advice on a 1911 -- and you delivered.

I'm interested in getting some bright, easy sights for competition. I love the bright optic yellow/greenish night sight dots on the HKs I've seen, but i haven't seen anyone else with these sights.

other than a trip to the eye doctor, where can I go to get a good sight for 1911 competition? No, I don't plan to carry this pistol.

What kinda competition you looking to do. IDPA, USPSA, or bullseye?

For run n' gun type of matches, I like a fiber optic up front, with a plain black serrated adjustable rear sight.

Bullseye should be black on black adjustable sights. Something providing a crisp sight picture.

I'm with Black Majik on his sight choices, black rear and fiber optic front. What kind of 1911 do you have and what kind of sights are on it already. I ask because on some guns you could just change out the front sight with a new fiber optic one. I also like the front sight to be narrow enough so that I have a decent amount light on each side of it when viewed through the rear sight. It seems a little easier to pick up that way.

I prefer plain black rear sights with a highly visible front sight. I had a custom Springfield 1911 built and it sports a Yost Retro rear and Kings Tappan front with a white dot.
