I'm looking to intall an extended slide release on my Para HiCap 9, and I notice that there are a lot of choices. I see them listed for 1911's in .45 and 9mm/.38Super. What is the difference between the two of them? Are they not all built on a 1911 .45 frame?

I tried the after market slide release (Wilson Combat) from my Springer Mil-Spec 1911 .45 on my Para, but it wouldn't seat all the way in. I didn't try to force it or really try to seat it at all. I tried it last night as I was going to bed. Should it fit? I thought they were all "standard".

Thanks.

As I understand it, the difference w/ the double stack Para's is that some the parts are proprietary because of the widths of the frames & slides.
