Any recommendations? Preferably in the Houston or Austin area. I'm about to get into the 1911 game and I'd like to know where to go if I need to get a few things worked on. Thanks!
Another Austin smith is Hank Fleming. www.hankgun.com. He has done work on at least 4 of my 1911s from simply installing a set of Novaks to complete reworks. He does good work and he has always treated me more than fair.

I've had my RIA 1911 and FM M95 Detective High Power both worked on by Hank, and the quality of his work is quite good, but he severly underestimates how much time it's going to take, by about 4 times in my experiences. Don't take a gun to him if you need it quickly. On the other hand he fitted a C&S sear/hammer into the FM High Power and it has the nicest trigger I've ever had on a gun bar none, so maybe good things come to those who wait?
