A few years back I worked over a 1911 to make it a combined carry/competition gun and dubbed it 'The Street Race.' Subsequently it evolved further into a 3-1/2" 9mm and became my EDC( thus the EVO part.) This started with a 9mm 3-1/2" bull-barrel and slide, an EGW flat-coil recoil system. Novak rear and custom front sight, lots of checkering, Gun-Kote two-tone finish and custom hand-checkered grips. Other stuff too, but that's the high points. It has been super-reliable and I find it very easy to shoot rapidly and accurately.

It's a great gun and has worked well for me, but I am probably moving on to a CZ P-01 with the full CGW trigger set-up. I'll always have a place in my heart for this one though, and I am sure it will still get carried now and again.

It really looks rugged and a well built 1911 is a piece of joy. Not too many smiths could build a good 3.5 " gun , especially in 9mm. There is al LOT of fitting to do ! To get my Para LDA 3.5" .45 I had to do LOTS of retifitting and use a Heine recoil system and his sight too ! It took me several years before I could retire my Colt Officer's Lightweight .45 with 6 rounds , for the Para's 12+ capacity wide body .

I had a Para LDA in 9mm that I never could get to an acceptable level of reliability. One of only a few guns I've ever sent down the road.
MTP, glad to hear your project turned out well, and it looks great. I hope it does continue to find its way into your holster from time to time.
