Friends, I am quiting the profession of medicine and embarking on the insurance industry. With the growing expansion of insurance policies aimed at pets and other items, I feel that firearms is a much needed area for future insurance expansion--particulary the 1911.

You are dedicated to the finest extant firearm--John Browning's incomparable 1911. Unfortunately, while superior to all other forms of personal defense, the 1911 platform has serious drawbacks related to training, maintenance, and operating costs. This plan in designed to help protect 1911 users from these issues.

For the low, low annual fee of $1911, you get to experience these key benefits*, and the list is growing every day:

MIM breakage protection
Reloading bench tendonitis and carpal tunnel care
Low back pain and sciatica chiropractic care
Wound care**
1911 financing
1 hour of malfunction drill clearance training
24/7 emergency gunsmithing services
24/7 criminal defense attorney referral
Theft protection***

I will also be offering investment opportunites in select metal supply industries. Why not profit from the incredible domestic and international demand for copper and other metals? Now you will be able to shoot guilt free.

Please contact me at 1911insurance.com for details.

*$45 copay/deductible applies to all services.
** Does not apply to 20lpi frontstrap checkering or Colt Gold Cup slides.
***Does not apply to 1911s manufactured by Heinie, Vickers, Rogers, Swenson

Probably the same policy applies to the Glocks, except for theft protection, because nobody in their right mind would steal a Glock.

And moving right along.

This has to be the most bizarre post I have ever read. Insurance for 1911 related injuries/thefts?
This must be a joke or we have a very delusional member.

Ooooh, a completely worthless and unneccesary insurance policy for $160 a month. Gee, sign me up!! What a bargain!!!

Oh, BTW, your "website" doesn't work....

To edit: Defiantely a BAD joke....

How 'bout "Ignorance Insurance"?

OR "Thread-Lock Insurance" which you'll wish you would have had in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Cut back on the kool-aid.

I thought it was just a spoof. It made me laugh, and frankly today...I needed the laugh, so I went along with it. Good on the OP for having a sense of humor.

Need Help for My Brother Inlaw

My brother in-law went range shooting yesterday with his less than 1 year old G22 when all of a sudden the pistol went boom. Slide broken in half right from the ejection port, rear part of the slide about 3feet away, magazine stuck, spent shell, feet away, and my bro now has some stiches on his shooting hand. Right hand heavily treated and bandaged while left hand was just completely dressed and cleaned. Forehead - just above the eyebrow line had some like shrapnel wound lines. Ammo - factory ammo - ARMSCOR .40s&w.

He now wants to file a complaint but doesnt know who to make it against - ammo maker or the gun maker? Gun is now back to the store where he bought it but no concrete response yet from the dealer. He wants to file a complaint for loss of income. He's a sales consultant and travels and drives a lot. Cant drive for a week probably and he's a bit conscious with his facial marks from the incident. The G22 was his first and only pistol and feel sorry for buying the gun.

Thanks in advance for any sound advice.

4 points...

1. His website does work.

2. Not finding his spoof funny does not mean the thread should be closed.

3. Doc, I was gonna tease you a little on your wavy Colt thread, but decided to back off. After that Glock comment, I feel free to zing you and say... "Buy a Taurus 1911":neener:

4. The OP was funny, and the responses were (intentionally or otherwise) funny, but Combatant, you brought me down. Kind of not the right thread to bring up that particular story....

I should have bought that 1911 insurance for the wavy receiver.

I thought Combatantr's thread was spot on. Curare is a glock guy, and was making fun of 1911's. Maybe the insurance should be for "Glock injuries".

People will find any reason to bash Glocks...I'm curious, as the OP didn't mention Glock once, or even imply that they are superior. Why the hate?
