that, according to my research, is very likely a member of the family that was modified by the Barbera Sporting Goods Co. for use at Fort Sam Houston.

It has the long forearm, an attachment for a Redfield receiver site, the sling attachment and my grandfather did happen to spend a lot of time at Ft. Sam Houston.

So... my question is: can anybody help me identify what kind of Redfield receiver site was on these particular rifles.

I found a few examples on E-bay and many images on the web but... have no idea what I am looking for otherwise.

Also, as you can see, the takedown button is missing. Anybody know where I can find another one. I got it apart using a small screwdriver and just creeping it a little at a time but that is going to get old fast. :)

Bump for someone who passed through Ft Sam Houston and did a little target practice back in the day.

Really would like some help figuring out what to put on that receiver site.
