1941A1 sniper reproduction scope questions

I'm considering building a 1941A1 repro USMC sniper rifle for the vintage sniper match and have a few questions about scopes.

The rules indicate that a non-issue alternative scope would be a 6x or 8x Unertl, Lyman or Fecker with an objective no larger than 1.5".

Can anyone guide me to a source to determine which of the scopes would be suitable. Lyman, for instance, made the Targetspot, the Super Targetspot and the Junior Targetspot. Are any of these suitable for 30.06 recoil? How about the various Unertls and Feckers?

Great post...I am considering the same and wondering if the Unertl 8x with the external adjustments can properly handle the .30-06 reciol in a rapid fire sniper competition?
Perhaps we'll both find out from the Pros on this Forum!

I've used a Unertl Condor 6X, Lyman All-Weather and Weaver steel tubes on the .06 and all have handled recoil fine.

I should have been clearer. For the 1941A1 repro, the rules call for the older external adjustment style scopes

Should be no problem; the scope stays sationary while the rifle recoils beneath it. Just remember to reposition the scope against the stop, unless it has a coil spring to do this
