I bought this for 340. I have been looking for one for years. I know the ears tend to crack and I can not find any cracks on these ears. Over all looks good to me by I don't know the models changes or values of these guns. Thanks for any help. pix382697602.jpg pix583468295.jpg pix625213203.jpg pix382697602.jpg pix583468295.jpg pix625213203.jpg pix825327530.jpg

I don't intend to shoot is just like my 58 Rem, Colt 60 and 49 pocket. They are very old and I don't want to damage them. I would like to get a couple of vintage 41 rimfire just to put next to it for display.

I used to watch that show all the time. His derringer had a knob hammer though. LOL I just sold my extra copy of To think I saw it on Mulburry st. to pay for the gun. The sale covered 98 percent of the cost. Who would have ever thunk it.

The title baffled me for a second. Should be “1866”, no?

That is a very nice Remington, Castile. I have seen a few at Cowboy matches and I do believe yours is the nicest one I have seen. No, the ones I saw at matches were not shot. They were folks showing them off or wearing them in holsters as costuming accessories.

I saw one of those in a pawn shop for $35 and passed because I thought it was too expensive. That was in 1960.

I would have gladly paid $340 for the one you bought.

Haha, you must have got it listed early. By the the time I got home from work last night, Mulberry St. prices were stabilizing between $100-200. My copy sold for $130 in about 5 minutes Buy-It-Now. How silly does that guy who bid $800 feel now, I wonder?:what:

Think Im going to use the money to buy a couple of boxes of .22LR..........:(

340 .. great deal in my book .. being that u have looked for years !!! You would be hard pressed to find one in that condition at that price ..

Believe or not in the late 1970s right before I finished my degree (15 years after I started) with a three year old and a new baby , I carried one of those or a couple years. I loaded it with Navy Arms made in Brazil ammo that was fairly snappy. It would go almost thru two two by fours sides of fir . I got it from a local colorful figure who I visited in his final weeks before he passed. He was the last of the real Cowboys of Salinas from the Steinbeck days and I had questions to ask him about the turn of the century area . He gave me his nickled one in the same condition as yours and I carefully carried it after I found a couple boxes of the new ammo as the gun was loaded with 50 year old stuff and thats all I could find . I was always scared to drop the thing as I knew they land on the hammer if unlucky and will break the frame if you are lucky. They are pretty kewl. I sold it for $700 25 years ago ! You did good !

Thanks. I grew up watching wild wild west and loved that pop out Remington he had. For what ever reason the prices seem to be depressed on these right now. I see some asking 7 to 1500 but I see them selling for 450 and under.

I think "the old stuff" prices are depressed since 2019 ! People want "the New hi capacity stuff" , and ammo for them. I wonder why :)
