Hey, Hk91-762mm.

Your dad sounds like a decent businessman =) Well done. Nice Dragoon.

My uncle owed my dad $15 bucks so dad Asked if hed swap the old BP Pistol -- Uncle said sure -- Im late 50s I remember playing with it on the living room floor as a young child -I would pack the area behind the hammer with cap gun caps and blast off 20 or so at a time --- I dont think I caused any harm -Of course-We had No idea what it was -Just an old cap and ball revolver . I have a home made copy Of a dragoon Ill have to do some checking on The barrell has no rifeling So I never gave it any attention.
I have Dads Old remington New mdl army also --DAD shot that one in compitition way back when -!

1st Model Dragoon

dlon21 have you tried www.coltparts.com for a new locking bolt. for your original Dragoon? They have some old parts, I got a loading plunger for 2nd model Navy from them. They also have the "F" series Colt 2nd generation parts. Don't know if these parts are close enough to fit to your original, but they must surely be better than Italian parts. Just today the nice mail-lady delivered a 2nd Generation 1st Model Dragoon. It is very similar, outside anyway,to my original early 2nd Model Dragoon. I'm not planning any serious disassembly of either in the near future. The loading lever catch has a slightly different profile on the new gun, if one were picky a little file work could correct that.

Thanks for your off-list mention of the black powder cellar (dont recall Swedish words). Sounds like they began in 1991, the year I was last in Stockholm. Never saw that shop, it was Widforss I visited. And Widforss (spell?) did have a couple of flintlock long guns. If we ever get to Sweden again that black powder shop will be one of my stops. Wife will love it (Not). Widforss used to have me on their auction email list, I never bid & am no longer on it.

JamesKelly,,

Nope, haven't thought of ordering form www.coltparts.com. I was actually planning on ordering from the other shop I told you about, although I got screwed last time. Probably won't be turning in any more guns to him for repair, I'm sure you understand that from what I told you. I'll try first with an Italian bolt, otherwise maybe I'll consider coltparts.com.

Svartkrutskallaren.com have been in business since the nineties I think, and have never done any business with them. But have heard some speak highly of them though. Widforss has some nice gun auctions, have to go look sometime. Think they are in May and November.. twice per year.

Anyhow, thanks for the tips. Hope your future stays in Sweden will be nice.
