I recently have come into a bunch of parts and such for the Mauser c96 broomhandle.
I have read a ton about these and think they are very cool.
but I can't figure out these barrels.
The first 2 have a 5 pointed star on the top of the barrel where it would say Mauser?

The other looks like a new barrel with 7.62mm on the top and the serial number is different scrip than others that I have seen?

Does anyone know about these?

Does the 7.62mm on the barrel mean I can shoot 7.62x25? If that's the case I could just change barrels shoot it on the cheap and then change back to the original barrel.

Thanks for any help in advance.

The top 2 look like China mfg replacement parts or parts from a Chinese mfgr'd copy of C-96. Maybe that is a military issue stamp. Hard to say without looking at the font for the SN.

The bottom one is Chinese as well I suspect, because the font for the S/N is completely different than mine or any other C-96 I have examined.

The .30 Mauser and 7.62X25 Tok are close enough externallly that you CAN fire the Tok in a C-96 but it is NOT recommended due to the fact that the Tok cartridge is loaded a bit hotter and could damage your C-96.

Back in the 1990's there were a bunch of C-96's imported here from China. Thats when I bought mine and I remember people in the know telling me to be sure of what I bought because there was a lot of Chinese replacement parts and even Chinese mfg'd guns floating around that other people were passing off as real Mausers to unknowlegeable types...

Those are interseting parts from a by-gone era when War Lords ruled China and I would keep them as such. There are too many unknows about the quality and I think they are better left as conversation peices. I wouldn't try and build a C-96 from them.

Thanks alot.

That SN falls in the Model 1930 (Commercial mfg) variant range... The cuts in the rib along the side are correct for this variant as is the step in the barrel. The font on the SN looks correct... It's an interesting part.

Here is some SN ID info.
