Last night I beat my fear of speaking in order to help fight back the erosion of our Constitution (not just the 2A). This speech reflects how I felt when I found out my Sportsmen's Federation only had 1 bus filled, about 55 people, out of 5000 members. I gave this speech in regards to the March 20th 2A rally, but it applies equally to everyone of our Constitutional Articles & Amendments as well as our Declaration of Indepence. I spoke in front of the presidents of the clubs that make up our Federation. The President of the Federation said he will email to all the club Presidents and they will email it to their members. I actually got up off my ass and did something. Hopefully It will motivate a few that, like myself, were sitting around swearing at the TV and radio to stand up, get out, and really make a diffence. We do not all need to speak, but we definitely all need to show up at events supporting our constitutional rights. If I can do it you can do it. Attend and Defend.
PS. If anybody thinks this speech can be used to motivate, feel free to share it in any form you desire.
Speak Without Fear
I have never spoken in public for fear of either insulting others or for fear of the audience thinking me a fool or I’d convince myself nobody wants to hear what I have to say.
But there are 3 reasons why I felt I had to overcome my fear and speak tonight.
1.A fear of mine that has grown greater than my fear of public speaking.
The greater fear is the vision of my children living under tyranny.
There are laws, rules, and regulations constantly being implemented with total disregard to our Constitutional Rights. They completely circumvent the Constitution.
Whether you believe these rights were granted by gods, by nature, or by our forefathers, does not matter at this point. Maybe a combination of all.
What matters is that for over 200 years each generation has been able to enjoy these rights. Now with every one of these rules or regulations my children, and yours, being stripped of these rights and are one step closer to being ruled by tyranny.
My kids are looking more and more like they will be the first generation since before the revolutionary war to experience true tyranny.
What matters is that we put an end to the desecration of the two documents which carry forth these estimable rights from one generation to the next.
The Constitution of the United States of America and our Declaration of Independence.
2.We owe it to our Troops.
They are our families, our friends, and they are cherished strangers; they are our heroes, and they are doing their duty on foreign soils away from the comfort of their homes.
The stakes for them are lose lose because at best they lose the opportunity to watch their families grow. Some won’t hear their kid’s first words or see their first steps. Some will miss weddings and some will miss their kids high school milestones.
And the worst case scenario, they never get to see their families again.
So the only true win for a soldier is knowing they are preserving our liberties.
It is wrong to think that our duties end with sending care packages to our friends & loved ones giving up their comforts so we can enjoy ours.
We must protect our constitution for them from within while they are protecting it for us from afar.
If we continue to sit idle and let these politicians circumvent the constitution with regulation after regulation then there is no reason for our heroes to even be serving.
A letter from a soldier…….“why father, why brother, why my mother and sister did you sleep at home, while we fought abroad? Why did you allow the shredding of our Declaration and Constitution from within, while we so dearly protected you & it from abroad?”
(My son thought the above was an actual letter from a soldier. So i wanted to explain, as I was able to explain to the live audience before I read it. As today we have letters from the civil and revolutionary war soldiers the future generations will have letters from today's soldiers. So I explained: If we here at home do not stop the politicians from circumventing, and thereby eviscerating, our Constitution & Declaration via rules and regulations the letters the next generations read from today's soldiers will read like the one above. It goes to the point of why we owe it to our soldiers to do our duty at home while they do their duty abroad.)
3.It’s no longer enough to sit at home or in our clubs and talk about how much we love our 2nd Amendment right. (The recent death of Andrew Breightbart.)
Andrew (et.a)l enabled me to excuse myself from getting involved because he was already speaking my mind for me. I could easily convince myself there was no need to fight my fears and speak out when Andrew was out there communicating my feelings already; and doing it with much greater style and articulation than I ever could. Now Andrew is gone.
It was once safe for Americans to go to sleep at night without any thought of waking up in the morning and finding their favorite constitutional right GONE. We could go to work, a movie, a sporting event, a hoe down, an opera, our kid’s chorus, or a neighbor’s barbecue and when we got back home our constitutional rights would still be there forever protecting us without any effort on our part.
Some of us will go home and listen to a TV or radio show, usually with a commentator we agree with.
At this point in time it is not enough to have one voice speak per the feelings of thousands.
It is necessary that each voice be heard speaking for itself. If that’s not reasonable, then the body of that voice must let itself be seen. We must show our masses.
We the people often talk of wanting politicians that actually represent us and do not govern beyond what the constitution allows. In this particular instance it’s our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Well assemblyman Brian Kolb is standing for our 2A right and we need to stand by him. We need to show up with thousands on March 20th so that after we leave Brian still feels us behind him. Then when he bumps into his anti-gun colleagues in the halls of the capitol building he can stand tall knowing his civilian army will be their when he needs us.
“…all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…
That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
