I have shot shotguns, 22 pistols and rifles but as my wife and I venture into CCW, we purchased 2 sub compact guns. Thanks for all the info to help with these purchases.

Ruger LCP .380 - New
This will likely be my wifes primary CCW. I have one mag with a finger ext and one without. For a newbie, this gun was not pleasant to shoot especially without the finger extension. I got better with it toward the end of the 50 rounds of Blazer Brass. I had 5 FTE. I have another brand I will try next time. I know I need to give it about 200 rounds before evaluating for reliability.

I do wish the slide stayed open after the last round.

Kahr PM9 - Used
I found this gun at a local gun and pawn for a fair price. This shop is normally over priced but this one was fair and it was in good shape and included all the papers, box and 2 mags. Likely, this will be my primary CCW although I do forsee using the LCP as well since she has said she won't want to carry if I am and I can see choosing the LCP at times depending on the clothes.

I shot 100 rounds of Remington UMC and had 1 FTE in the 1st magazine. None after that. I don't really have anything to compare it with but it definately shotes easier than the Ruger LCP although it shot low about 4-5" and left 3-4" at 7 and 15 yards. Not sure if it is me or the gun at this point.

Again, little comparison experience but I will say loading the magazines on this thing is really tough. The last few are down right hard. There is no way my wife is going to be able to load more than the 1st few rounds. Guess I am going to need to purchase a loader.

Thanks for looking.

You aren't the first person I've heard of being beaten up by an LCP/P380, the grip is extremely narrow an more than likely adds to the pain.

It is a little gun with a long stroke DAO trigger. Most likely this is from needing to get used to it.
