2 ASM "US Dragoons" 2nd Dragoons

They're both made in 1969 by the same manufacturer but have the wedge inserted differently. I wouldn't expect that out of ASM. Palmetto possibly but not ASM.

The one with the Walker style wedge is SN 1479 and the one with the correct wedge orientation is SN 1756. I think ASM realized their mistake part way through their 1969 run of 2nd dragoons and was customer sensitive enough to make the change. Now if we can just find a year when the "US DRAGOONS" switches to "MODEL USMR" we will know when they finally got their act together.

What about the different shapes of the bolt stops between the First and Second models? They may fit on the arbor but,

Ephraim, did you the buy those two Dragoons?

Crawdad1, You spoilsport!

I just checked my first model dragoon by ASM and the holes are the correct ovals.

Now I have to figure how to put a square bolt in a round stop and vice versa.

No I did not buy them but I watched them with great interest.

Just living vicariously until my finances recoup from a buying frenzy for now!

It seemed like Colt addressed ASM's were coming out of the woodwork for a while.

I got a Walker, a 1st Dragoon, a 3rd Dragoon and an 1851 Navy all in a span of three months so the bank account is on life support for now.

All of my Non-Colt revolvers with the Colt barrel address are ASM products except for an Uberti Numis Gallery Wells Fargo.

Apparently some of the latter had correct two line Colt barrel addresses and some did not.

I have not seen any other company interested in incurring Colt's wrath!

In the years since Willie Sutton and Elhombre discussed Colt addressed ASM's on THR, I have found and bought the Pocket Police, Pocket Navy, 1860 Army, 1851 in .36 & .44, 3rd Dragoon, 2nd Dragoon, 1st Dragoon and Walker.

I am still watching for the ASM Wells Fargo, 1849 Pocket and Baby Dragoon.

My 3rd and 1st Dragoons have flaws so if I found better specimens I would trade up.

Hopefully the ones I am missing will not all show up for a few months!!!
