Yesterday I went with my friend Kevin to pickup an M&P pre-model 10 with target sights that he bought the other day (but was held up due to our efficient background check system). While we were there, he notices another model 10 Royal Hong Kong Police trade in model. I stared to get the "Why should he get TWO guns and I'm not getting ANY guns!?!?!" internal dialog. It was then that I noticed a sweet little Colt Official Police. The price was a bit high, but I have mostly S&W's, DW's, and Rugers in the revolver section of my safe and I figured it was time to diversify. So I snatched this little beauty up:

Today my father and I met up to go to a gun store that was having some sort of presentation put on by Hornady. Some kind of reloading demo or something that my dad wanted to see. The folding chairs gave us only about 45 minutes of comfort before it was time to move on. We stopped by the gun counter and I noticed a stainless colt snubbie shining up at me. Since I apparently collect Colt revolvers now (in addition to S&W, DW, and Ruger Revolvers), and since I had a $100 gift card from this particular gun store...my mother and father-in-law got that for me for my birthday, but I spend so much money at this store, I honestly thought when it arrived that it was some kind of generous customer loyalty deal...anyway, it was a Colt SF-IV, or what later became the DS II. Not the most collectable or sought after Colt out there, but a very tidy little package which included the box and all of the other related throw-in's that the previous owner was kind enough to retain.

LOVE that Snub

That Colt snubbie is a real beauty and I am sure the action is a good as the gun looks.

NICE find and hope you dont sleep too long in the dog house !.

Thanks. She has already laid claim to the little one. That's her way of telling me I have a little bit of approval.

Because it's easier to break the news to the wife that you only bought it because you needed it. Works with guns, aquarium supplies, car parts, ect.

My wife adjusted very well. Any time a new gun joins the family, she reciprocates with her own purchase in roughly the same amount.

Very nice.
I like that little stainless Colt the best. Everyone should have a little travel-mate like that to accompany them on their many journeys. Mine ain't as pretty as yours, just a little sp101, but it does the trick.

Congrats! They are both really nice.

Terrific looking revolvers. Am fortunate, insofar as my Mrs. has always said "go ahead and buy whatever makes you happy". Of course, this meant she was free to purchase whatever shoes, purses etc she wanted to as well. After 35 years, I'm not complaining!:D

Colt SAA

You saw a COLT [ not a clone ] for 600.00 and you left it - HUH ?.

Doug Turnbull [ google him ] does MAGIC = REALLY to old Colts and yes I know personally.

I would have grabbed that Colt before the others as it has MUCH more intrinsic value than both the others put together.

It was stainless but looked rusty. The tag said 'Colt' but I didn't look close. I was worried I would buy another gun, so I looked away. :)

It very possibly could have been a knock off with an antiqued style finish and maybe the 'Colt' I read on the tag was because it was 45 Long Colt.

Either way, I left it for some other more deserving soul. It's like I used to tell my ex-wife "you can't rescue every stray cat". The other thing I would say to her is "you ruined my life", but that doesn't really apply to anything here.

@ HAkron

Ok,at least NOW sleep wont be hard to attain tonight.

Stainless clone of a SAA is nothing to bother about, thank you for putting me at ease.

REALLY !!.

Almost all guns I see, I would not take them for free.

But not the two the in the pics in this thread that hAkron posted.

I would pay the going rate for them.

I can feel myself wanting them.

Well done sir! Two Colts in Two Days (especially since you did it at two local gunshops and not at a gunshow), is no small accomplishment these days. The SF-VI is particularly interesting in that it was made for a rather short period of time (1995 to 1996), and you have one that looks like it's LNIB. Enjoy your new found treasures.

P.S.-Did your friend ever get the R.H.K.P.D. Model 10?

That's great to hear on your friend getting the R.H.K.P.D. Model 10. I remember when they first imported back in the early '90's and the selection was very good in terms of finding some that looked like they were never issued or saw very limited use on duty.
