I was able to get to the range today with my Bushmaster. I love this thing. I ditched the TruGlo scope:cuss: :cuss: and bought a Nikon. Both targets were set to 100yds. with the wind blowing probably around 5mph.
1st target using Federal 55gr. FMJBT

2nd target using my 69gr. Sierra Match-King FMJBT with 22.7 grains of AA2230:

I liked the feel of the Match-Kings, but I think I need to up the grains a little. I shot some Hornaday 55gr. V-Max's, but that was a nightmare. I had major problems with the bullets not feeding and one got stuck so bad I thought I was not going to be able to get the bolt back. Some of my shells seemed to be dented and mashed pretty bad. I measured almost every bullet so I am perplexed as to why they were a nightmare. I am going to try the V-Max coated bullets this weekend.

Yes. I had a buddy who told me that the 69gr. Match-Kings would not shoot good out of my Bushmaster. Sure.....:D :D I guarantee if I go to 24-25 grains of AA2230 I will get some really nice groups.

looks good, you have a few flyers but that is what practice is for. were you shooting from the bench? it looks like the federal shot much better as far as accuracy minus the flyers, i would probally save the money and stick with them.

I was shooting from a bench, but handholding the rifle. If it weren't for the flyers I would be much happier, but I can't complain. I am loading the same bullet tonight but with 24 grains. I think they will be more accurate.
