Hey everyone...I'm looking for someone with experience with this type of safe.

It is a Browning Gold Series safe, and it was bought 20 years ago...the owner is the original owner and the Gold series safe at the time was the top of the line.

The safe is the smallest of the Gold Series safes and it's dimensions IS 60 INCHES TALL, 20 INCHES WIDE AND 12 INCHES DEEP.

Can anyone tell me the type of safe that I am looking at...I haven't seen it as of yet and will be headed almost to Chicago to pick it up. The owner states that it's a pretty secure safe and not one of the sentry safes or those along those lines.

Please respond with any info that you know of..anyone that deals with safes and knows what safe I'm talking about help me out.

Oh...I'm buying it for 350.00.

I have a 23 year old Fort Knox that's as good tooday as it was when I bought it.

Browning is a damn good safe - I'd buy it for 350.

Thanks I do appreciate that...however does anyone have any info on the browning gold series safes from 20 years ago?

Depending on it's exact age, it may or may not be firelined. If it is, probably 30 minutes or so. In either case, it should be heavier gauge steel.

Guaranteed to have orange shag carpet on the inside.

Do you have any photos?

I should also add that most people never service their safes. At 20 years old, it will probably need the lock serviced (at a minimum), or replaced due to wear. Make sure you have it looked at by a safe tech, even if everything appears to be working correctly.

You don't want to start using your new safe, then get locked out a week later.

I have a Pro Steel Safe ( they make Browning safes) 30" wide
About 35 years old---not fireproof.
They are a good safe.
Bolt it down to the wall or floor.
The price is good.
Have fun...............................

First, that's not a Gold Series safe if those dimensions are correct. Unless I am mistaken, what you have there is an earlier Pro-Steel safe which was called a Trimline. It that's the case, it is not fire insulated. Yes, I've sold Browning safes ever since there was such a thing, but I could be wrong with this information as it pertains to it being a Gold Series. I don't remember them making anything that small other than the old Trimline. If I am wrong and it is a Gold Series, it will be fire insulated and say so on the inside of the door.

That being said, it's still a good safe either way and would be a good buy at $350 if it's big enough for you.
