I want to thread my 20ga for internal chokes. Should I go with Win or Rem? pattern? What's the difference? What's "Tru Choke" how is it different?

Chokes is be two complimacated fur mee. HALP! :p

It can Be complicated.

A lot depends on the wall thickness of your barrel. If you have sufficient thickness, they can thread them to a factory standard choke such as Remchoke, or some other, providing they have the tooling for that type of choke.

If the barrel doesnt have sufficient thickness then a custom thin walled choke system can be custom made for your barrel.

I've heard of some barrels being to thin to install chokes in unless they were cut back to where the wall thickness is sufficient. I'd be reluctant to do that, as it's really going to change the way the gun feels, if the reduction in length is substantial.

I 've had friends who have had work done by Briley, and I can attest to their quality of work. I've heard good things of Mike Orlens work, but have no experience with it whatsoever.

I chose to buy a factory threaded barrel for my 1100 rather than modify the original. So that may be an option for you.

If you can pick and choose what choke you want your barrel threaded for. I'd pick one thats very common, with lots of aftermarket chokes available at reasonable prices that will also fit.

Hope this helps....chas

What gun?

Briley is one of, if not THE, leaders in the field. What are you trying to accomplish? Have you patterned your gun to see what it currently does with your intended ammunition?

New barrel is not an option.

Briley seems like a good choice, but I can only do this threading ONCE and would like to have a large selection of chokes / rifled chokes / ported chokes, etc.

Thanks guys. I figure for a 12ga i'd do Rem but IDK about a 20ga.

Cool!!!!... I'd put a Deluxe Poly-Choke on that baby if it were mine. It would look like a flash suppressor or breacher and have nine functional chokes at your finger tips with no tools needed to change them. I recently had them do a HD length barrel for my 870 Super-Mag I'm very pleased with their work and the chokes function.
