Not to long ago I posted that I was having issues with my new at the time 20 GA Pardner piercing primers on Remington ammo. Since that time I bought and used some Winchester 7/8 oz. game loads and slugs. To date I haven't had one pierced primer on the Winchester ammo. The Remington game loads are hit and miss, I'll get a pierced primer and go 1 or 2 shots then get another. So it appears that it is a ammo issue and not an issue with the firearm.

Interesting because I use a lot of Remington ammo and have over the last 30 years and have never had an issue. Were your problems all with the same lot number? If so, contact Remington and see what they might do for you

Yes and no, yes the game loads are all from the same box, I have another box but I'm afraid to use the ammo at this point as I don't want to damage the firing pin. No because I also had the same problem with they're slugs as well, 3 shots with 3 pierced primers. Like you I find this strange too as I use and have used a lot of Remington shot shells. This is the first time that I've had a problem with em'.

Contact them and let them know that you used other brands with no issues. If they have QC problem with a particular lot or two, you are doing a great service to them and the rest of the folks who bought them

Email has been sent, will let you know what they reply back with. In past years I always used Rem game loads for upland game hunting. I noticed over the course of the last few days that the Winchester game loads seem to burn cleaner than the Remingtons. I think I may be changing based on just that fact alone, the remingtons by comaparison leave a lot of residue behind.
