Am interested in a reasonably priced Bore Sighter for 22 ca rifle. Would appreciate some recommendations. Thanks..........Bob

I have used at least four different bore sighters, and they all got the rifle on paper. None were exceptionally close. Pick one that fits your budget and needs. My favorite is the magnetic sighters from Leopold, and it has ability to match scope axis over bore axis height and works with ARs with muzzle devices.

I have a Bushnell three arbor bore sighter set. I bought it about 10 years ago for around $80. I think something comparable now runs $100.

I've used it for my 10/22. It easily gets me on the paper at 50 yards. I've also used it for 243 and 30-06. in both cases easily on the paper at 50 yards. From there it was easy to move to 100 yards.

The problem you will have is that in most cases it isn't worth the cost to get a bore sighter to do a single caliber and rifle. I still have my old Bushnell Banner covering from .22 to .45 caliber from the gun shop days. Paid for itself years ago after doing maybe 5 jobs with it. Pretty much a matter of what you want to spend but for a single job. if possible, I would look to borrow one.

A 39 $ red laser bore sighter is available at Walmart. I make a "target" out of reflective thumb tack trailmarkers, using five arranged in a cluster, you can use it in bright light conditions if you use a reflective target, I have mine set up at 50 yds, if I want to "get on the paper" with a centerfire rifle I use a ballistic chart and it will usually get me there.

It should work real well for rimfires. I have even used it for iron sights.

I use a 22 boresighter all the time. get the one that has various arbors and goes into the end of the barrel as opposed to ones that go in the chamber.
