How often do you practice your weak hand shooting and where do you feel you are the most vulnerable?

For me since I started shooting rimfire more frequently I now shoot about 1000 rds per week using bulk 22 lr. As a southpaw or left hand shooter I realized that I was very vulnerable behind the driver's seat of any vehicle. Especially if the threat came from the drivers side instead of the passengers side.

Using bulk ammo and my browning buckmark makes it very convenient to practice your weak hand without breaking the bank, and my buckmark eats any kind of ammo. At this point it is about sight alignement, muscle memory, and not about grouping so bulk ammo fits the bill.

Most every time I shoot I try some shooting with my non dominant hand. I'm a southpaw also, I think we have an advantage in off side skills seeing as how almost everything is made to be used wrong handed, we naturally have a lot of practice adapting.

In bed, sleeping. I'm unarmed, naked, and well past condition white. I'm asleep... naked... unarmed... how much more vulnerable can you get? {even in the shower I am at least awake, if not dressed... but that is a story for another day...}

I shoot weak hand (left hand) sometimes, but its not fast. I can pull off shots pretty well with both hands, but speed is a definite factor in shooting left handed in a bad situation. Just feels weird shooting weak hand but I can do it. Need to practice it more.

I don't have a weak hand, I am ambidextrous........For practice for my bullseye matches many years ago I would shoot my left hand against my right hand. It would depend on the day which hand shot better.....it must be a bitch to only be one handed....chris3

Probably more often than most but not as much as I should.

Unless you ride with the doors unlocked and/or the windows down, you should not feel quite so vulnerable in a vehicle. Maintain your situational awareness but also remember that you are in control of a much larger and dangerous deadly weapon than any firearm. As a bonus, you can use it to escape in, which should always be option #1. That said, I always keep a loaded XD .45ACP close at hand. ;)
